My name’s Alicia (aka AK) and I am a book-a-holic.

Since I was a kid, I’ve been in love with books and reading them. I grew up loving Judy Blume’s Fudge series, and crying over Bridge to Terabithia with the rest of my second grade class. Later on, I fell for J.K. Rowling’s legendary Harry Potter series, and became addicted to the world Cornelia Funke created in her Inkworld Trilogy.

Nowadays, the majority of what I read is YA (Young Adult), and thus most of the reviews on this site are for YA books. I enjoy all genres of YA, though recently I’ve been really into contemporary romances. I’ve also poked my head into the NA (new adult) genre, but what I’ve seen hasn’t totally wowed me yet (save for Tammara Webber and Colleen Hoover’s books). I also take a stab at an Adult book every now and again, usually by an author who’s written some YA books I’ve liked (Meg Cabot, Kelley Armstrong), or just authors I’ve been recommended (Sophie Kinsella).

I started this blog in 2009. That was probably when my reading obsession hit its high and I would talk about books all the time. Finally realizing I was starting to annoy my friends who, although awesome, just aren’t as enamored with literature as I am, I created this blog (which has changed names twice, and will not be changing names again… I promise!).

Even though I started this blog for me, I love that I can share my opinions and favourites with the world. So don’t be shy – please feel free to peruse and interact with my posts (tbh, comments and likes always make my day brighter).

What’s something about me that’s NOT related to the Internet or books?

I’ve lived in Canada my whole life, and have been out of the country a grand total of four times… to go to the USA.

I’m a full-time student, and I’m majoring in English.

I love art and writing. My hobbies mostly consist of polymer clay creations, jewellery design, writing poetry, and painting.

I watch dramas (Japanese or Taiwanese usually) and have a K-Pop obsession that almost rivals my book obsession. K-Pop wise, my favourite group is B2ST, but I also love SHINee, Super Junior, MBLAQ, B.A.P., and TroubleMaker. I also like Z.TAO and Raymond Lam within the C-Pop realm, as well as Arashi and NEWS in the world of J-Pop.

In the western hemisphere, my favourites include Marianas Trench and Panic! At the Disco. I also like Red, Sarah McLauchlan, Lifehouse, and Jessie J.

Anyways, that’s a little bit about me !

Thanks for reading~

  2. Hey
I hope you’re having an awesome day!
My name is Yaron Levite, and for the last 3 years I’ve been pouring my life into a new novel titled THE MOHANDAS, a thriller set right in the middle of the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
On August 5th I will be launching a Kickstarter campaign with the aim of pre-selling enough copies to allow me to fund the novel publication.
It’d mean the world to me if you could help spread the word to your amazing community of readers.
I have created a special website about the novel and even shot a short clip explaining about the Kickstarter campaign (I hate seeing myself on camera, but these days, you just have to…). The page is at http://www.yaronlevite.com.
The site also has a sneak preview of the first 3 chapters so your readers can try before they buy J.
Is there any chance you would be interested in helping? If yes, please let me know how I can make the writing process easy for your team. I’m happy to send press releases, articles and anything that could help. We launch Tuesday at 8am PST.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Ah! It was so good! I love the little guy who kept grabbing all the shiny things. I think it might be my spirit animal haha!
#fantasticbeasts #movie #harrypotter #fantasticbeastsandwheretofindthem #ticket I went out to support my friend at her fourth year Fine Arts exhibition today! The art was beautiful and I couldn't resist purchasing the catalogue containing all of their artist statements and pieces!
Check out her work @shairyourstory!
